Our Services

Our emerging therapists and seasoned clinicians work side-by-side to offer effective, accessible mental health counseling to our local community, from Hendersonville to Nashville, and virtually to individuals throughout Tennessee.

We work with adolescent and adult individuals, couples, families, and groups, to address the hard stuff in life.  We help people tell their story, process emotions, integrate experiences, and create the life they want.  Some areas of specialization are listed below, along with current group offerings.

Anxiety Disorders

Whether you worry about everything, struggle with obsessive thoughts, or simply feel like your body is never fully at rest, we can help you calm your mind and your nervous system, so you can experience more calm.

PTSD / C-PTSD &

Posttraumatic Stress

We sometimes refer to traumas as Big-T and little-t traumas.  Big-T is the stuff you think of - abuse, assault, major accidents or invasions, combat, medical trauma, etc. Little-t traumas are the ones you might miss - like having emotionally immature parents who are are unable to meet your needs, bullying, abandonment, etc.  Most people have some degree of trauma that fits in one or both of these categories, and you might be surprised to find out how those experiences are showing up in your life today.  We can explore that with you, find the barriers to living your best life, and remove them together.

Spiritual Exploration / Religious Deconstruction

Many people have experienced religious trauma, otherwise known as "church hurt," which sometimes makes it feel safer to reject anything in the spiritual realm, but there is a sense of emptiness or meaninglessness without your former spiritual framework.  For others, remaining in church is important, but you need a safe space to unpack your questions and find an interpretation of your faith that feels like your own.

Meaning - Making & other Existential Concerns

There are four universal existential concerns that most people grapple with to some degree - death (it's inevitable) , freedom (we're responsible for our choices and there are many), isolation (the inherent loneliness of humans), and meaninglessness (humans want to find meaning in life and a sense of purpose).  We are weird enough to love exploring these topics, and meaning-making is a specialty of ours!

Depression & other Mood Disorders

Depression has a way of lying to us, making us believe that everything is wrong, we're bad or broken, and there isn't much hope for better days ahead.  We will witness your pain and also guide you toward a broader perspective where pain is balanced with pleasure.

Grief & Loss

Grief can follow many types of loss.  Of course, the death of a loved one, human or pet, can be devastating.  But the loss of a job, a relationship, a pregnancy, a vision, plan, or fantasy,  a community, a religion or faith, one's health or ability, and many other things can be just as difficult.  We offer a space to process with compassionate witnessing and real movement through grief.

Identity Exploration

While identity can shift across the lifespan, the most formative years are during adolescence.  Raised in an ideal environment, one knows who they are, for the most part, by their early 20s.  But most people are not raised in an ideal environment, and we find that many people are still exploring their identity well into adulthood.  What do you want?  What do you like?  Who are you?  If you hesitate when trying to answer any of these questions, we can help!

Relationship Concerns &

Attachment

Sometimes relationships benefit from couples therapy.  Other times, relationships benefit from two people doing their individual work.  Even one person can sometimes shift the dynamic, by gaining insight, changing communication, and learning to set and/or respect boundaries.

Our attachment styles are mostly formed in the first few years of life, but they continue to dictate how we connect with others, who we chose as partners, and whether our relationships are satisfying.  An insecure attachment style also tends to be accompanied by problems with emotion-regulation, self-worth, and identity / ego development.
